The ASU CR calendar details upcoming meetings, events, and parties that the club will be holding:
This week we will be hosting a very special guest speaker by the name of Michael Zak. Michael Zak is the author of Back to Basics for the Republican Party, the acclaimed history of the GOP from the civil rights perspective. Join the College Republicans at ASU and the Arizona Federation of College Republicans for this special event Thursday at 5:00 PM in the Discovery Hall 250 formerly Agriculture 250. Bring a friend!
This week we will be meeting Thursday at 5:00 PM in Discovery Hall 250, formerly Agriculture 250. We will be discussing the results from Super Tuesday and what that means for where we go from here. We will also be joined by a representative from Students for Saving Social Security to talk briefly about their organization.
This Thursday we will be meeting in Discovery Hall 250, formerly Agriculture 250, at 5:00 PM. We will be joined by U.S. Congressional Candidate David Schweikert, who will speak to us about his campaign and volunteer opportunities. We will also be holding elections for the positions of Treasurer, Director of Membership, and Director of University Affairs. To vote you must be a dues paying member as of last week. After the meeting we will be going to Applebees for dinner!
Our first meeting of the semester will be this Thursday, January 24th in Discovery 250, formerly Agriculture 250 at 5:00 PM. We will be joined by Arizona Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen as well as members of the executive office staff Pascal Kropf and Tony Reinhard. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get involved in a political campaign as the 2008 elections loom closer.
This Thursday we will be holding a meeting in AG 250 at 5:00 PM. We will play host to Mesa City Council candidate, Matt Tolman. Directly following the meeting we will be going to the Arizona State Fair! You can purchase you admission tickets at any Fry's or Fry's Market Place, and get $1 off each regular price ticket. Buying your ticket at Fry's also means that you will not have to wait in long line at the fair. It is going to be a fun night so don't miss out!
We will be meeting this Thursday in AG 250 at 5:00 PM. We will be joined by Paul Charlton, an attorney with Gallagher and Kennedy, a prestigious Phoenix Law Firm. He attended law school at the University of Arizona after earning is master's degree in Spain. Paul Charlton was just recently the US Attorney for the District of Arizona, and was selected by President Bush to serve from 2001-2007. This should be a great experience for all of the future law students in the CR's! After the meeting we will be going to Dave and Buster's for dinner and games.
We will be meeting this Thursday in AG 150 at 5:00 PM. We will be playing hos to Jim Ogsbury who is a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. Jim served as the staff director of the U.S. Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, and previously served as the federal manager of the Salt River Project. Jim currently serves on the board of the Earll Street Residences Association. For more information you can visit his website at, www.ogsburyforcongress.com. After the meeting we will be to dinner at Macayos Mexican Kitchen on Ash Avenue.
We will be meeting this Thursday at 5:00 PM in AG 250 at 5:00 PM. Mesa Mayoral Candidate Rex Griswold will be joining us to talk about his candidacy and experience as a Mesa City Councilman. We will also be joined by Amy Berg of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) to talk about opportunities for College Republicans. Immediately after the meeting all CRs 21 and over are invited to attend the Republican Professionals Networking Event at the 6 Lounge in Scottsdale.
The Desert Tusk is now available in electronic form with new issues featuring the writings of your fellow CRs being released biweekly.
